Hi, I'm Shelby! I founded the Women's Health 365 Collective so we could build a community for women's health on Substack. Drop a comment below to introduce yourself.
4. Perimenopause health information written by a certified perimenopause educator that won't bore you to tears! The biology of perimenopause packaged as entertainment.
4. I create short podcast episodes in which I answer life & health questions from my subscribers, post excerpts from the life guide I'm writing, and write swearily about anything from RSD to shameful life anecdotes.
Hi Maggie, Welcome! I love the combination of health coach and creative swearing. I never swore until reaching midlife. I was never the same after The Hitman's Bodyguard's Wife. When you get a chance, look through the directory and see if there are any topics that your publication or articles fit into, and pop them into the comments section. https://womenshealth365.substack.com/p/directory Each week, I feature a different article from a Collective member, and you're now on the list!
Genus idea! I’d love to be featured and also meet some fellow migraine warriors (I love migraine girl who was recently promoted, she’s become a fab friend😍)
4. A sanctuary space for fellow holistic migraine warriors. Meditation magic Monday. Weekly posts sharing my story, insight and epic healing findings. Host of podcast Your Migraine Story Matters. Published author💜
I’ll leave you with this post to get a feel for what my page is about:
Hi Amber! I'm glad you found us, and I welcome you to the community. It's amazing what we've been able to accomplish in a relatively short amount of time, and I think you'll enjoy being a part of it. We lift each other up. Head over to the Directory when you get a chance and add your publication or individual articles/podcasts to any and all categories that it fits into in the comments section. https://womenshealth365.substack.com/p/directory
Also, because you've introduced yourself here, I'll feature you in an upcoming newsletter and Notes. So far you and Migraine Girl are the only ones who focus on migraines so I'll keep you both in mind as resources. Best, Shelby
4. Healthcare is complex- The Health System Navigator makes it clearer, smarter, and more human by Educating Leaders, Empowering Patients, & Improving Systems.
Welcome Caroline! I'm so excited to have another MHA'er here. We can talk shop anytime! I love what you're doing on your Substack. There is so much confusion about our health care system that we need someone who can explain all of its nuances. I'm glad you found us! ~ Shelby
4. I'm new to Substack, but have logged a lot of miles serving, studying, teaching, and writing about the pelvic, pregnancy, postpartum, and performance health needs of fit and athletic females! Equipping pros and individuals by making research relatable, clinical and training strategies well-reasoned, and discussions thoughtful.
Welcome, Dr. Wiebe! I'm so glad you found us. As a new Substacker, it can be hard to find your group within Substack. However, our community will help you feel welcome. I'll introduce you in a Note soon (I just did one for someone else). Please look through the Directory topics and place your Substack (or individual articles) into the comments section of any category that it fits into. This is a living document, so you can add to it at any time. https://womenshealth365.substack.com/p/directory Thank you for joining us! In the future, I'll also feature one of your articles in our weekly newsletter. Best, Shelby
Thank you so much for the warm welcome. Thanks for the info on how to participate in the directory, excited to participate. And thanks for the offer to share an article! I really appreciate it! And Julie is great, but I appreciate your kind use of Dr.
Thanks for the clarification, Julie! I always use Dr. unless told differently. You earned it. I’ve seen two pelvic health PTs in my lifetime and both were very helpful. I’ll do what I can to get the word out as many women still don’t know it’s available to them.
I really appreciate that, I mainly just made my grad students use it ;). I am so glad to know you had a good experience. My experience and skills lie in connecting pelvic health with fitness and performance....so helping folks get back to what they love! Thanks for sharing!!

4. Conversation and community for perimenopause and menopausal women. Bringing together my background as a therapeutic yoga/Pilates rehab specialist, cosmetic formulator, skincare founder, certified menopause coach and my many personal (and mostly not great) experiences in perimenopause. It's time to open the door on this astonishing transformation for women instead of relegating it shamefully behind closed doors. Join me and share your experiences! 🦋
Yay, Susan from Phosis has joined the Collective! 🎉 I love your "yoga snacks" at the end of your articles! Susan reminds me to slow down and enjoy the beauty in life through her Substack and other work. If you've never watched one of her videos on Instagram or Substack, go check it out. They are mesmerizing! Susan is a Jackie of all trades and recently launched a gentle skin care line for midlife women, Phosis.
Thank you Shelby! I know how many women are suffering through perimenopause without guidance or answers - and unfortunately we all experience something slightly different. Hot flashes, achy joints, sleep interruptions, the list can feel endless. Even more challenging, the perimenopause transition can last for years (I'm nine years in and counting). But there is good news; sleep hygiene, stress management, and strengthening bone and muscles can all improve the road to menopause. And let's not forget the crucial role of movement on the body and the mind. Perhaps least talked about? How to take care of our largest organ... our skin. Phosis is here support each other and help us thrive at this stage in our lives. ✨
I thought you were going to say our liver, but yeah, skin is good! 🤣 If we've learned nothing else from HRT, it's about how things can be absorbed by our skin and the importance of the ingredients we put on it. Thank you for being so thoughtful in your skincare line and doing the necessary research!
Welcome, Stéphanie! We could all use your information and tips - thanks for joining us! I noticed that your website address brings me to a broken link. For anyone reading, I'm posting the correct one here https://shenesis.substack.com/. Poke around the Directory and feel free to add your publication and articles to any topics that apply. Best, Shelby
Thanks, Shelby. I corrected my initial comment as well, thanks for pointing that out. I'll take a look around and see where I can fit in. Have a great weekend! And again, thanks for the welcome.
I’m Migraine Girl and I write at Beyond Migraine. I write about my journey with Chronic Hemiplegic Migraine, Fibromyalgia, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Mental Health Awareness and Advocacy. I am also a 2 times stroke survivor and service dog handler.
You're in! It's that easy... subscribed and introduced yourself. Done. Welcome to the group! Based on your experience you've built a lot of knowledge and I'm so happy you've decided to share it. Take a look through the Directory pages and see which topic(s) your work fits into... either a specific article or the whole publication. There's no limit so as long as it's relevant to the topic. The other bonus is that since you introduced yourself here I can feature one of your articles in a future newsletter. Let me know if you have any questions. Best, Shelby
It's all in due time 😁. For each newsletter (every Monday), I pick the topics based on what I want to talk about or feature. I go down the list of the authors here and pick one. I try to go in order of introduction, but sometimes something jumps out at me, or if someone features the Collective in some way, I'll return the favor. Your topic will be easy to fit in because no one else is writing specifically about migraines.
Hi Shelby. Thank you for creating this She-Shed community space for us! I'm a Caregiver, Mentor, Business Owner based in the UK and 'Human-ing' hard with a lot of ❤️. I started offering Caregiving insights on my Dad's birthday, after he passed, in 2020. I had 0 subscribers when I joined Substack in Oct 2023, and now our support network is thriving. I hope Carer Mentor can serve more people seeking empathy and insights.
4. Heartfelt empathy for Caregivers, and anyone with a chronic health issue/illness/condition receiving care. Carer Mentor is a hub of practical tools, resources, and experts' insights. A portal of hope and community network. A wealth of real life, lived experiences.
Welcome Victoria! I'm so glad you've found us, and I appreciate all of the work you're doing on your Substack. You are a wealth of knowledge. Last year, my MIL became the caregiver for my FIL for about 7 months and I got a peek into what that was like. I've always been inspired by her, but I have new found respect for what she went through taking care of him and navigating the home health industry.
Thanks Shelby. There are several people / publishers who share their experiences and many I've highlighted in Carer Mentor anthologies. Feel free to DM me if you or your MIL have questions moving forward. I hope your FIL is stable healthwise and things are calm for all of you. FYI check out Denise Brown's work too.
Where would you recommend highlighting caregiving for others - in the midlife and ageing or elsewhere.
Also, Osteoporosis is an ageing issue but a not an autoimmune health condition but I understand it's related to decreased bone density, Vit D - where would that be best represented given you highlight peri/menopause? I just want to make sure I respect your categories when recommending others. Thanks, Shelby!
Thanks, Victoria! The categories for the Directory are pretty flexible. I wouldn't mind if you posted osteoporosis in midlife aging, medical conditions, and/or perimenopause. As far as caregiving... mental health, midlife aging, and medical conditions. The more the merrier - whatever you think it would fit best where someone would go to look for this information.
Thank you for the sweet offer. My FIL ultimately passed away, but MIL single-handedly kept him alive for many more months than he would have gotten in a nursing home. I did learn through this experience that in Massachusetts (not sure if this applies in other states), there is a fund that pays family member caregivers for their time caregiving. She didn't end up applying for it, but my sister knows people who have, and it comes in helpful. Just wanted to mention that since I know you are based in UK. Keep up the great job! Your topic is extremely important. Best, Shelby
Aw Shelby, my condolences for your loss. Oh I didn't realise that Massachusetts has a fund for caregivers - that's SO good, a state that values family caregiving! I won't soapbox here - but you can imagine..
Thanks for the guidance re. posting, I appreciate your flexibility. I'll pick out a few articles/connect you with others as I just did in notes.
I highlighted Osteoporosis, because I used to work in that area and falls/fractures medications and treatment happens (as I'm sure you're aware) around peri-menopause. Densitometer checks for BMD Bone mass density checks are important e.g. Vajenda: https://vajenda.substack.com/p/even-high-trauma-fractures-are-a
4. As a health coach passionate about nurturing menopausal women's brains and guts to boost mind, energy, and vitality (stay away from us Alzheimer's!), I created The Win of the Day to shine a light on the small wins that often go unnoticed but have a profound impact on our brain and cognitive functions overtime.
Hi, Sophie, and welcome! I love this niche you write about. So many women I've met have been concerned about their own brains based on their mother's (or father's) experience with dementia and Alzheimer's and want to do all that's possible now to try to prevent it. I hope you're enjoying Substack so far! Since you introduced yourself here, I'll add you to the list of writers to pull articles from when I put together our weekly newsletter. Best, Shelby
Thank you, Shelby -- I really appreciate it! If you know anyone who is struggling in their path to prevention, please do not hesitate to point them my way 🌸

Take a look and add a comment (using the suggested format) for any of the topics your publication and/or individual articles fall into. You can find a list of all of the topics here https://womenshealth365.substack.com/i/151556985/womens-health-collective-directory-topics. Hi Sharon, and welcome! I noticed you're a Substack OG - congratulations! Thanks for stopping by and being a part of the Collective. Because you introduced yourself here, I'd be happy to feature one of your articles in a future newsletter. Hi Daria, Welcome to the Collective! I'm so happy you found us, as you're a great fit for our community. When you have some time, take a look through our women's health directory topics to see if you have articles (or your whole publication) to add to the comments section (there are instructions within the posted topics). Here's the link for the Directory that lists all of the currently available topics https://womenshealth365.substack.com/p/directory We're still building the Directory over the next few weeks, so you're just in time. And, if you have any questions, let me know. Best, Shelby
Thank you! I’m really looking forward to participating. What a great idea for collaboration.
