Hi everyone! I’m Sam. Shelby, thanks for setting this up, how fantastic of you!

I am a late diagnosed neurodivergent, tenacious midlife struggler, and autistic perimenopausal advocate.

My aim is for my subscribers and readers to come away feeling informed, validated and co-regulated. I am working hard to get the word out on how debilitating perimenopause can be for autistic women, whilst trying to survive this phase and make it out the other side alive.

1) Sam Galloway (she/her)

2) The Autistic Perimenopause: A Temporary Regression

3) https://samgallowayaudhd.substack.com/

4) In The Autistic Perimenopause: A Temporary Regression I explore what it means to survive “The Change”, when neurologically driven to fear and resist change. I have learnt a lot through my lived experience, and from reaching out to academics/experts about surviving this life transition characterised by sensory overload, burnout and depression.

Welcome, Sam! I'm so glad you're here. Sam is a valuable resource on neurodivergent experiences during perimenopause. This stage of life often amplifies various issues, and that seems to be the case here as well. Whenever I have a question in order to help a client or for my own knowledge, Sam is my "go-to" person. She always responds thoughtfully and graciously. Almost once a week I refer someone to her. If you want to learn more or are struggling yourself, I encourage you to reach out to Sam. ~ Shelby

Small world! So I am actually going to be switching everything to Substack, including my podcast, which I am putting on hiatus for a short time for the transition. I am also launching a digital comprehensive guide to post menopause sexual function which will be exclusively on Substack.. Working with a designer now and getting ready to launch early in 2025. still figuring Substack out, but it seems like the right place for me.

That's very exciting news! You'll love it here, and it's a safe place to share information. You'll quickly gain subscribers and popularity. I'm in Chicagoland and very familiar with your work and commitment to making this information accessible, so you can count on the Women's Health 365 Collective to help get the word out. If you have any Substack questions, feel free to DM me. If I don't know the answer, I can point you in the right direction. Although the Collective is newly created (because Substack doesn't have a category for women's health), I've been writing my original publication for 6 months, so I can offer my personal experience. Best, Shelby

Dr. Streicher, it is a pleasure and an honor to have you join us. You've made women's health a priority for a long time and are the preeminent menopause and sexual medicine physician expert.

I met you in person recently at The Menopause Society meeting. I talked with you and Donna Klassen about your recent webinar with Dr. Milhouse, which I attended. I shared the story with Dr. Milhouse just this week, and she appreciated you mentioning her to Let's Talk Menopause.

Welcome!

Hi, I'm Jill Consor Beck (@golong).

Name of Substack: Go Long

https://golong.substack.com

I write about strategies for improving health and well-being for women aged 40+ in the sandwich generation facing perimenopause and autoimmune challenges. The content provides evidence-based tools for enhancing energy levels, building resilience, and achieving restful sleep.

And thank you, Shelby.

Hi Jill! Wow, you've been a Substacker for two years. That's very impressive. I'm so glad that things are going well for you, and welcome to the group. If you've written any mental health-related articles (I see you have a link for Burnout), feel free to post them in the Call for Publications: Women's Mental Health post I published on Monday. I think I'll make a topic specifically for autoimmune conditions since they appear frequently in women, especially in midlife.

Thanks so much. I've been writing for 19+ months now, so under two years. But I've really focused on being consistent over that period of time. I've experimented with different formats (and will continue to do so).

That is fantastic that you're going to create space for autoimmune. I mean, it's unfortunate that it is so prevalent but since it is, I'd rather people have a better experience than what I had when I was diagnosed.

PS -- I'll post in the mental health thread the link to the Burnout stories. DM me if you'd be up for a live chat sometime.

Menopause is Inevitable; Suffering is Optional. Ayurveda, an ancient powerful profound medical system, translates into accessible, everyday practices for peri-post menopausal women - from seasonal routines and herbs, movement to healing foods, oils, and breath work that are sustainable.
